Presidents Award:
An award to be given by the President - to someone they deem worthy for their own
reasons. Should be an Area VI member. Awarded on a yearly basis.


Sportsmanship Award:
To be awarded by nomination from members - to someone who exhibits exceptional
sportsmanship through the entire year. Can be youth or adult. Awarded on a yearly
basis.


Promotion Award:
An award to be achieved by the individual, youth or adult, on a continuing basis, by
logging hours spent, hands on, (travel time shall not be included) taking their horses
and ponies to nursing homes, parades, non-sanctioned (ASPC/AMHR/ASPR) driving
events, and their own free driving time, also non-sanctioned fun days, etc. When a
certain number of hours are logged the person is given an award (example: a
certificate, a patch, pin, etc.) the larger the number of hours, the larger the award
(halter,etc., keeping it reasonable). Award recipients will be sent to the newsletter
and Journal correspondent to be published. Awards shall be given at 100 hours, 250
hours, 500 hours, 1000 hours, 1500 hours, and 2000 hours. All animals used to claim
hours must be registered with ASPC/AMHR/ASPR. All hours must be recorded on
preprinted log sheets which will be available upon request. It is the individual's
responsibility to keep their own log sheets and send them to the designated person.
Tabulation of log sheets and reporting of award recipients to the Area VI newsletter
and Journal correspondent to be published, will be the responsibility of the awards
chairperson or a person designated by the board of directors. The reason to omit
sanctioned showing time is to try to encourage those people new to small equine and
that are not readily involved in showing, to participate more in Area VI.

Youth Citizenship Award:
To be awarded to an outstanding youth in Area VI that has worked hard to promote
the breed - by achieving a high number of points, yearly. Points shall be earned by
taking horses and ponies to non-show related activities and documenting these
activities. The following items will serve as documentation of the activities:
snapshots, publication in newspapers, newsletters, and magazines, description of
television or radio coverage. Additional points will be awarded for publications and
coverage that is circulated beyond the local area. Each documentation that further
promotes the breed will earn more points. For example; if someone takes their
horse/pony to a nursing home and documents that activity with snapshots - awarded 5
points, the local newspaper takes pictures and publishes them - additional 5 points -
additional 5 points are awarded if pictures in newspaper are accompanied by an article
- 5 more points are awarded, etc. At the end of the year the youth earning the
greatest number of points is the award recipient. All animals used to accumulate
points must be registered with ASPC/AMHR/ASPR. It will be the responsibility of the
individual youth to send their documentation to the designated person on preprinted
forms and tabulation of points will be the responsibility of the awards chairperson or a
person designated by the board of directors.
